Dunedin Youth Film School

Our history

In 2018 we conducted a seven-week film school with 12 children, ages 8 to 17, at the Dunedin Public Library. We met for 2 hours on Saturdays to learn the basics of story structure, equipment handling, sound operating, and editing. The final 12-minute film made by children is quite exceptional.

Super talents surround us at this very moment. The children's film is called The Story of Tulip Thompson, and you can see the video on YouTube.

Our mission

Dunedin Film Festival Inc. supports an annual Dunedin Film School in partnership with the Dunedin Public Library. In addition, every year, there is a free film festival at the Dunedin Public Library where educational documentaries and children-appropriate films are screened. This event is open to all public and is free.
